Is an author and academic in the English Literature PhD program at UC Davis. His debut novel, Moon-Song, is a YA science fiction book incorporating many aspects of his research into narrative form. He is represented by Massimiliano Zantedeschi.
Samuel researches the intersection between Science and Technology Studies and Game Studies. Beginning with a talk on "Techno-Economic Games" at the Theater, Performance, Philosophy conference at Paris-Sorbonne in 2014, he has been researching the ways in which the rhetoric of games abuts science fiction narratives and contemporary discourses of ethics. He is continuing this line of work with his research project on the history of game strategy and anti-colonial play in South Korea.
